Do you have at least 3 years Safety Coordinator experience in road construction and are looking for an opportunity to work with a company dedicated to becoming the safest and best heavy civil contractor and materials supplier in South Texas?  Then IOC Company, LLC has an opportunity for you.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Implement and supervise company safety program and ensure compliance with OSHA job site safety requirements.
  • Perform jobsite safety audits and report findings to company leadership.
  • Provide Safety Orientation to all new hires.
  • Conduct monthly mass safety training.
  • Provide training and be competent in: Fall Protection, Excavations, Confined Spaces, Traffic Control, and all associated Road Construction Hazards.
  • Conduct post incident/accident investigations and prepare reports identifying possible causes and solutions.
  • Oversee workers compensation claims.
  • Coordinate initial medical care for injured employee and accompany them to medical care facility.
  • Investigate and resolve property damage complaints.
  • Coordinate with outside training resources for courses such as First Aid/CPR, Defensive Driver, OSHA 10, etc.
  • Administer drug tests in a variety of settings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years or more safety experience in road and highway construction.
  • Associates Degree or higher (preferred).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willing to work in the Edinburg, Texas/RGV area.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Valid Class C driver's license.
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently that may require long hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs.
  • Ability to work both outdoors and indoors.
  • Proficient in MS Work, Excel, PowerPoint.
